Diphony

Terms of Use

Last updated 1 September 2026

These terms govern your use of the Diphony application for macOS. By installing or using Diphony you agree to them. Diphony is distributed through the Mac App Store, so Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies; where the two differ, the terms below add detail rather than replace it.

What the app does

Diphony records a meeting as two separate audio tracks — your microphone and your Mac's system audio — and transcribes them on your device, so each line of the transcript is attributed to the correct side. All processing happens locally; see the Privacy Policy.

Free plan and Pro

Subscription terms

Prices are shown in the app in your local currency before you confirm, taken directly from the App Store.

Refunds

All purchases are processed by Apple. Refund requests go through Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. We cannot issue refunds ourselves, but write to us and we will help you sort out the problem.

Your recordings, your responsibility

Recording a conversation may require the consent of the other participants. Laws differ by country and by state. You are responsible for having whatever permission the law where you are requires before you record. Diphony provides the tool, not the legal basis.

Acceptable use

Do not use Diphony to record people unlawfully, to break into systems, or in any way that violates applicable law. Do not attempt to bypass the purchase mechanism.

Warranty and liability

Diphony is provided "as is". Transcription is produced by a machine-learning model and will contain mistakes; do not rely on it as a verbatim legal record without checking it. To the extent permitted by law, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the app in the twelve months before the claim.

Open-source components

Diphony includes third-party open-source software; full license texts ship inside the app under Settings › Open-source licenses.

Changes

We may update these terms; the current version always lives at this address with its date. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept it.
